A good story has a scene and a plot. Process verbs paint the scene: I was studying, we often went. Result verbs push the plot: I met, I moved.

Four words that link a story.

Process verbs (учи́лся, рабо́тал, е́здили) set the scene; result verbs (познако́мился, стал) move the story.
