Full dates and how long ago
A full date chains three genitives: the day, the month and the year. Then two small words, наза́д and с … по …, place any event in time.

A full date
Ago: the time first, then наза́д.

| Он роди́лся пя́того ма́я ты́сяча девятьсо́т девяно́стого го́да. | He was born on 5 May 1990. |
| Э́то бы́ло пе́рвого сентября́ две ты́сячи деся́того го́да. | It was on 1 September 2010. |
With a day and a month, the year goes into the genitive too: девяно́стого го́да.
