How to do it

Ask for someone
Мо́жно А́нну? or, formally, Мо́жно поговори́ть с Ива́ном Петро́вичем?
When the line is bad
Вас пло́хо слы́шно. Я перезвоню́. Say it early, before you lose the thread.
Leave a message
Переда́йте, пожа́луйста, что звони́л Марк. Then your number, slowly, in pairs of digits.
Ask and answer
Questions you will hear or ask, with a natural answer. Read each pair aloud; the listen button says it with your device's Russian voice.

Speak
Shadow it: play one line, pause, say it back at the same speed; then take the other part. Role-play: say your three moves aloud, in Russian, before you read any model.
You call a friend's office; the friend is out.
- Greet, say who you are, ask for your friend.
- Leave a message with the reason for your call.
- Give your number slowly and close politely.
You call a restaurant to book a table.
- Say what you want and for how many people.
- Agree a time.
- Spell your surname if asked: по бу́квам.
